Background
Project Centre undertakes annual routine inspections of Medway Council’s highways structures. Our multidisciplinary team demonstrated expertise in maintaining and strengthening entire structures, investigating sites, providing feasibility and costs.
Organising and undertaking structures inspections over the network rail infrastructure was a particular challenge for our team, as lead-in times for the possession can be long and substantial. The early engagement with National Railway allowed us to operate within our programme constraints.
Process
We carried out all the structures inspections required, supporting Medway Council with:
- Engaging with stakeholders and contractors to inspect, plan and manage the risk assessments across the inspection programme
- Providing formal risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) documents to identify higher risk areas of the structures
- Reporting findings and asset specific
- Developing improvement projects, including site investigations, feasibility studies, and design of replacement elements or entire structures
- Acting as CDM Principal Designer and providing technical approval support, managing the project from site supervision till construction
Impact
We completed the structures inspections on time and on budget, offering a consistent approach to provide an accurate representation of any structure’s current condition.
Our multidisciplinary approach secured 85% satisfaction from our client feedback, topping 100% in 2020- 2022.
Project Centre delivered an extremely satisfying programme, engaging with stakeholders and contractors, whilst with planning, quality and reporting.
