Project Centre supported the West Lindsey District Council in transforming the former derelict industrial mill site, Baltic Mill, into a new riverside park. This new design creates a vibrant, welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.

The vision celebrates the River Trent by orientating the elevated space towards the water, enabling visitors to take in the ‘theatre’ of the riverside, the dramatic sunsets and surrounding countryside.
A former riverside port, the original elevated dock edge has been retained and industrial style benches incorporated to provide resting points and opportunities to relax.
Planting is used to soften the adjacent blank building facades, while grass areas provide places for natural play and picnics with the family. This new park has strengthened the local green infrastructure and significantly improved the biodiversity within the area.
The site has been designed to be inclusive, with easy-to-navigate surfaces and plenty of places to sit. This new green space, located in the heart of Gainsborough, has become a new destination and is helping to revitalise the town centre as part of wider investment projects in the town centre.
