School Streets are timed controls on non-exempt vehicles entering the roads outside of schools, during school pick up and drop off times. Their aim is to reduce traffic volume outside schools, whilst creating a healthier environment for children to travel. 

The street closures create safer spaces for walking, cycling and play as well as improving air quality for children. They also encourage active travel routes to school including walking, cycling, scooting, and wheeling.

Exemptions apply to residents, businesses and blue badge holders requiring access in these zones.
