Project Centre has expertise in developing Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs), supporting clients across the country with managing their highways network for all road users.

Our traffic orders team worked on a wide variety of projects, from minor parking designations to large scale public realm and highway improvement schemes. We are also assisting tranche 1, 2 and 3 local authorities with reviewing and digitalising their moving traffic orders as part of Part 6 applications.

Our expert team provides advice on highways and road traffic related legislation, including traffic sign requirements and compliance, stopping-up orders, public rights of way law and other governance procedures. We offer an end-to-end service, which also includes the statutory consultation process, monitoring and reporting on responses.

Project Centre provides an extensive array of services and solutions for Geographic Information Systems (GIS). We cater to the needs of public and private sector clients, enabling both to benefit from the wealth of geographic information available.

We provide GIS services for data collection and management, spatial analysis, mapping and visualisation, web mapping, data analysis and modelling, as well as consultancy and support services.

Our GIS specialists are experienced in the use of a wide variety of mapping tools, including: ESRI, MapInfo, QGIS and Mapbox. Our multi-disciplinary teams utilise GIS solutions for engineering, parking, traffic management and flood risk management.

• Mapping and data collection – we specialise in capturing GIS data using highly accurate
• Global Positioning Systems surveying techniques or digitising from primary data
• Web maps and cartography – we produce high quality detailed map designs as well as interactive web maps

Some recent GIS projects include: 

• Providing parking stress mapping and analysis for Waltham Forest
• Creating maps for Lewisham’s Controlled Parking Zones programme and mapping results from recent consultations
• Auditing and mapping active travel in North Ayrshire – we used mobile GIS systems to plot features on cycle routes and create a database for the network
• Analysing safety and mapping collisions on Lewisham road network over a three year period to identify and target interventions in the borough 

Project Centre provides site compliance checks for public and private sector clients to ensure proposed sites for enforcements are: 

• Compliant with traffic signs regulations and general directions (TSRGD) 2016 requirements, for signs, lines and designs 
• Easy for drivers to understand. We design advanced warning signs and locations of regulatory signs

In addition to the above, we also provide Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) support for clients to ensure they match restrictions and compliant. 

Controlled Parking Zones are designed to improve local parking. They restrict the ability of people from other areas to park in these roads, reducing both traffic congestion and air pollution.

Project Centre has considerable expertise in some of the most complex areas of on-street parking management such as event day schemes, managing parking pressure near hospitals, major transport interchanges and on private estates. We produce fit for purpose scheme designs to meet the needs of communities.

We provide an entire project management, supporting clients with their feasibility studies, consultation, design and implementation. 

Project Centre provides a comprehensive range of services including the review of parking provision and demand on housing estates, including consultation and design. This helps local authorities to better manage resident parking on their housing estates.

These surveys can record the occupancy of spaces in on-street and off-street parking at regular intervals to profile usage and determine peak periods. They can also be tailored to meet individual client requirements.

The UK government’s “Taking the Charge electric vehicle” policy identified a need for between 300,000 and 700,000 publicly available charge points to meet demand by 2030 and ensure the UK meets their Net Zero targets.

The EV sector is rapidly growing and it is becoming increasingly important for both public and private sector organisations to consider requirements for providing charging and electrifying their fleets.

Project Centre’s dedicated EV team supports public or private sector clients across the country, providing an integrated transport consultancy to better understand the benefits and impacts of vehicle electrification and transport decarbonisation.
