Project Centre celebrates road safety week 2020 which is hosted by Brake. This week is dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of road travel and encouraging changes that promote safety. Every 24 seconds someone is killed on a road. This counts for over 1.3 million deaths on the world’s roads every year. In addition, road collisions are the most common cause of fatalities for those age 5 to 29. Brake’s annual event works to reduce this danger and so do we.
Project Centre celebrates efforts to improve road safety on this special week. Moreover, Project Centre’s schemes have a strong focus on road safety and sustainability. From planters and pocket parks to extra crossings and speeding prevention measures, our passion is for schemes that encourage greener methods of travel and living. This often encourages people to walk and cycle which reduces the chances of motor vehicle incidents. When this isn’t enough, we work on schemes such as school streets which restricts car use on roads where students congregate for education.
Whether it’s a trip to the shops or to the park, take the time this week to walk or cycle where you would drive. You might just save a life.
