We’re delighted to announce that West Lindsey, Tower Hamlets and Ealing were successful in their bids for Levelling Up Funding. Together with the local authorities, we developed their bid submissions and we are extremely proud that these are coming to fruition.
In addition, the £4.8 billion Levelling Up Fund (LUF) invests in infrastructure that improves everyday life across the nation. For that reason, the scheme included regenerating town centre and high streets, upgrading local transport, and investing in heritage sites. West Lindsey secured £10M, Tower Hamlets £9M and Ealing £7M to use in their districts to improve the local areas.
West Lindsey
The council’s ‘Thriving Gainsborough 2024’ is an ambitious plan to improve the town of Gainsborough through several local projects. Some of the project included creating a new cinema, extending the heritage led regeneration, and enhancing Market Place. For the purpose of the council, we developed a public realm strategy to revive West Lindsey’s position, which identified several of the key interventions included in the LUF bid.
Ealing
Ealing Council is taking a different approach with their Northolt Travel Scheme. The project will improve journeys for pedestrians and road users by creating better connections to local and wider areas. The changes will ease congestion, improve air quality and increase road safety. In sum, Ealing is working with the local community to ensure people’s priorities are at the forefront of development.
Tower Hamlets
Then again, we are excited about the success of the London Borough of Tower Hamlet’s LUF bid for the Whitechapel Road Improvements Programme. We built the programme around the vision for Whitechapel Road that we developed for the Council in 2020.
