Background
Epping Forest District Council commissioned us to assess how to accommodate staff parking needs following the removal of the majority of the Council Civic Office parking spaces.
Our transport planning team explored different solutions for implementing a feasible car park management strategy. This included proposing the creation of a Park and Share facility with bus shuttles and car sharing at a site remote to the Civic Office.
Process
Project Centre undertook various travel plan analysis to assess the following:
- The existing staff travel patterns
- The staff working needs, including how many staff members could work remotely
- The existing public transport facilities as well as the car park management strategy
Following the assessment, we delivered a development plan to maximise the current strategies’ potential. Our team also fed into pre-application discussions regarding developing the new Park and Share facility for the Civic Office staff.
Outcome
Project Centre provided a breakdown of all the costs and environmental, social, economic and timescale associated with each option. Our constant communication and detailed reports of the schemes’ impact informed and empowered Epping Council in their decision-making process. The client was satisfied with the delivery of our proposals on time and within budget.
