The London Borough of Haringey commissioned Project Centre to undertake the design for the Ferry Lane Regeneration Project which included upgrades to the highway, drainage, landscape, and street lighting.
The vision for Ferry Lane was to transform this strategic vehicle route into an exemplar project where pedestrian and cycle access is a priority. The proposal was to create a unified landscape character across the whole route which is easy, safe and pleasant to use by pedestrians and cyclists visiting the Wetlands that is part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest and the newly built Hale Wharf development.
For the street lighting renewal scheme, we undertook extensive liaison with the client, stakeholders, and manufacturers to derive a decorative lighting solution whilst meeting the required lighting standards.
The lighting works also saw the removal of the “Razor light”, which was a substantial structure that required careful planning as part of its demolition process.
The final lighting scheme comprised energy efficient LED lighting units mounted on bespoke street lighting columns featuring a unique curvature which complement the design. The curvature of the lighting columns and together with the rustic steel colour finish give the location a distinct feel and identity.
