During the Covid-19 crisis many rough sleepers have been housed in hotels across London. Resulting to St Mungo’s outreach workers and Radical Recruit to work with a cohort of over 100 homeless people. This preparing them for life back in the working world running workshops around employability skills and interview skills.
Also, during the month of September 2020, Marston Holdings started working with the charities. To help some of London’s most vulnerable homeless individuals back into work. Plus, during this period, Marston Holdings ran two recruitment days where 35 candidates attended. The sessions were designed to talk about the business. What we do and the career opportunities the business had to offer. Additionally, from the 35 that attended, 23 candidates showed a real interest in the business. And pursued applications and of these, 6 individuals have now commenced employment with us. In our Camden, Islington, Westminster and Lewisham contracts
However, the success of the scheme has demonstrated how seriously Marston Holdings takes its social value responsibilities. And the success of the scheme has been met with real praise from our clients in the four London boroughs. Social value – Marston Holdings
Paolo Orezzi, CPE Service Director said:
“I am really proud to have been involved in the project both from a commercial. And personal Social Value point of view. Too often we overlook a person based on their personal circumstances, however, when you dig deeper and get to know an individual you quickly realise they have so much to offer and just need a helping hand to kick start their lives and reach their true potential”
Following on from the success in London we are now looking to expand this scheme across the UK. Plus we have already started the process within our contracts in and around Greater Manchester.
