Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) in Brighton & Hove are much more than the uniformed figures ensuring parking compliance. These dedicated individuals, part of the NSL Brighton & Hove team, play a crucial role in enhancing community well-being and safety. Their efforts go far beyond parking enforcement, contributing to the community in meaningful and often life-changing ways.
Over the past 18 months, the NSL Brighton & Hove team has actively engaged in numerous community initiatives, earning them recognition as an Age and Dementia Friendly business by Brighton & Hove City Council. This recognition underscores their commitment to inclusivity and social responsibility, particularly towards the aging and dementia-affected population.
The team’s involvement in the “Tidy Up Team” and beach cleaning initiatives demonstrates their dedication to keeping public spaces clean and enjoyable for all. Their charitable efforts, such as fundraising for local causes, donating food to the Brighton Food Bank, and providing toys and books to the Brighton & Hove Toy Bank, highlight their generosity and commitment to supporting those in need.
Beyond their community projects, CEOs regularly assist vulnerable individuals in emergency situations, offering comfort, first aid, and practical help. From helping the homeless with clothing and blankets to diffusing potentially volatile situations, their quick thinking and compassion have made a significant impact on the lives of many residents.
NSL and Brighton & Hove City Council are also working together to change public perceptions of CEOs. By highlighting the positive contributions of CEOs and educating the public about their true role, the team aims to reduce the aggression and abuse often directed at these frontline workers.
The partnership with Spear, a local charity focused on youth employability, further showcases NSL’s commitment to social value. By providing job opportunities and support for young adults facing barriers to employment, the team is helping to build a brighter future for the community.
In conclusion, the NSL Brighton & Hove Parking Enforcement Team is making a profound difference in the community. Their efforts to support vulnerable residents, maintain public safety, and contribute to social causes exemplify the true spirit of community service.
We are extremely proud of teams within Brighton & Hove, and are equally honoured to have been shortlisted for this award at the British Parking Awards 2024!
