We are proud to announce that our partnership with Westminster City Council and The Metropolitan Police (Met) has won the British Parking Awards in the Parking Partnerships category!
Between 2020 and 2022, we faced a significant challenge with rising incidents on our Civil Enforcement Officers in certain housing estates in Westminster. To address this issue and ensure the safety of our team while maintaining high parking compliance, we forged a strong partnership with the Met and the Westminster.
Key aspects of the partnership:
Collaborative efforts: Our partnership involved joint patrols, with the Met providing crucial support through patrols, knife sweeps, and intelligence gathering. This collaboration extended to data sharing agreements to track vehicles of interest and combat anti-social behaviour.
Objectives and achievements: Since the start of these joint patrols, there have been no incidents towardsour officers, and parking contraventions have decreased by over 50%. Complaints from Emergency Services and waste teams regarding access have also dropped to zero.
Enhanced safety and community impact: The presence of both police and enforcement officers has provided a visible reassurance to residents and significantly improved the overall ambiance of the estates, contributing to a safer and more compliant environment.
Looking forward, we aim to increase the frequency of patrols and enhance data sharing to continue improving safety and compliance in these areas.
Thank you to all the key managers and team members involved in making this partnership a success. We’re excited about the positive impact we’re creating together!
