In 2010, Aimee found herself at a crossroads, after facing redundancy and a challenging period of unemployment, the future seemed uncertain. For an ambitious, hard-working woman living on the outskirts of Manchester, the question loomed large: what’s next?
Aimee joined NSL as a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO) on the Manchester City Council contract. It was a fresh start, offering her the chance to get back on her feet—both literally and metaphorically.
The early days were a whirlwind of new experiences. Aimee underwent training, donned her new uniform, and began learning the ropes through buddying up with experienced colleagues. The first two years were filled with cars, challenging interactions, and countless learning opportunities. She mastered the basics—issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), advising customers, communicating effectively with the public, and coordinating vehicle removals.
Working for the UK’s leading provider of parking enforcement services, Aimee’s personality began to shine through. Every day brought something new—new faces, new challenges, and fresh opportunities to develop her skills.
Fast forward 14 years, and Aimee’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. Her dedication and passion have seen her rise from an on-street CEO to the role of Service Delivery Manager on the largest contract in the North of England, with special responsibility for social value. Her story is a testament to her commitment to personal development, hard work, and the support she has received from NSL’s positive structures and investment in people.
Today, Aimee’s achievements have been recognised with a shortlist for the Rising Star Award. This nomination celebrates her journey, from overcoming adversity to excelling in her career.
