After a competitive bid process, Project Centre acquired a contract with the London borough of Waltham Forrest. This contract is for the provision of professional engineering services for traffic and transportation. The Waltham forest contract win includes transport and development planning, public realm enhancements, highways management and design and consultancy advice and support.
The Waltham forest contract follows previous successful projects we’ve delivered with the council. For example the design for a 5km cycle route of a strategic highway. Lea Bridge Road was a flagship project for the Transport for London mini-Holland programme, for which Waltham Forest Council received £30m in funding. We delivered preliminary design, supported the consultation process and created the detailed design.
In Chingford, we created the preliminary and detailed designs for four 20mph zones. Moreover in St James we undertook the preliminary design for bus priority measures. As cycling across the borough increases, we have supported the council’s ambitions and supplied preliminary designs of cycling facilities on Blackhorse Lane and Billet Road as well as a boroughwide review of disabled parking bays including surveys and drafting traffic orders.
“This is superb news! With a long history together and our expertise in sustainable practices we are ready to deliver a scheme that will transform Waltham Forest for the better.” – Ken Simmonds, Deputy Managing Director
The Waltham forest contract win also marks a decade long relationship with the London Borough of Waltham Forest, and we could not ask for a better way to start the next ten years than with such a prestigious contract. We cannot wait to put our skills into practice when the contract commences.
